How in the world have I already been in New Zealand for six months?! I arrived in New Zealand exactly 6 months ago today, and I honestly don’t know where the time has gone!
My first two months in New Zealand were spent travelling around this beautiful country. My time travelling was amazing because I had my alone time, and I got to do exactly what I wanted to do, but I also met so many amazing people, and that allowed me to plan things with others as well.
Exactly 4 months ago, I arrived in Dunedin which is where I currently live. I arrived in Dunedin already having a flat lined up which was a huge weight off my shoulders, as that was around the same time students were coming back to town as the school year was getting ready to start.
After about 3-4 weeks of applying to literally every job available I finally landed a job as a temp at the local university. Since then I have been working full time at the School of Dentistry.
When I planned to come to New Zealand I honestly had no idea what to expect. It was me first time not living at home, it was my first time travelling solo, it was a first time for many things. But everything is going so well!
I have been lucky enough to have the best flatmates a girl could possibly ask for, I’ve adapted very quickly to no longer living in my parents house. This unfortunately means buying all of my own food, and cooking it myself. Ugh. Who said adulating was fun?
While I did have grand plans to travel more and even blog more, they sadly both have taken a bit of a back seat as I do have to adult and work 40 hours a week.
Because I am a temp I can literally leave my job for months at a time and go back as I please. Therefore I am planning another multi month trip once the summer rolls around again.
However, as winter approaches I do have some small trips planned, including going to Auckland in two weeks, followed by Queenstown and Wanaka at the end of June.
I’m also hoping that with the colder weather
approaching now here that I will spend more time blogging, but I am quite busy believe it or not!
I have a personal trainer multiple times a week, I’m currently taking a photography course once as week, and of course I have social activities as well. It’s sometimes hard to find time to write, but my mother has informed me that people have been asking for blog updates, so I will try to make more of an effort.
Thank you as always for following me on this journey. These last 6 months have been hands down some of the best times of my life and I’m excited to see what else New Zealand has to offer me!
